Anyone interested in visiting should contact the Steward on 01672 515151. New Biomass heating system – green energy for a historic Trust This is a more efficient and totally renewable fuel. We have replaced the old boiler room with a brand new building, built in a spot that allows it to nestle in with the countryside – it even has solar panels on the roof which will deliver free heat on even the grey days of winter. Trustee Martin Gibson says – ‘This project has taken two years to complete and we replaced our old oil fired boilers that were coming to the end of their life. Together with changes to the pipe system we now use about half the energy so our costs will be much lower. We will also save over 250 tonnes of carbon a year. We got 3 bio energy government grants to do this and our project was one of the most prestigious projects in this area and will be looked at and by many other people over the next few years’.
